About us

Accounting training built by people who close books for a living.

BalancePoint Academy was founded to close the gap between accounting theory and the way small businesses and firms actually keep their books day to day.

Our approach

Every course is built around real transactions: invoices, receipts, payroll runs and bank statements, not abstract exercises. Lessons combine short video instruction, guided practice files and a graded final project modeled on a real close.

Who reviews our curriculum

Course content is developed with input from licensed CPAs and experienced bookkeepers, and is reviewed on a regular cycle to stay aligned with current U.S. GAAP practice and common payroll and tax filing requirements. BalancePoint Academy is a private training provider; our courses are not a substitute for a professional accounting license, and completion does not itself confer CPA or EA credentials.

What we value

Clarity over jargon

If a concept can be shown on a ledger line, we show it, instead of describing it in the abstract.

Practice over theory

Every module ends with a hands-on file to reconcile, not just a quiz.

Honest pacing

We publish real weekly time estimates so you can plan around work and family.

Courses

Four tracks, one goal: books you can stand behind.

Take a single course to fill a specific gap, or move through all four for a rounded bookkeeping and accounting foundation.

Track 1

Bookkeeping Fundamentals

The double-entry system, chart of accounts, journals, ledgers and the trial balance. Ends with a full manual close of a sample business.

Estimated time: 6 weeks · 4–6 hrs/week

Track 2

QuickBooks Mastery

Company file setup, bank feeds, invoicing, reconciliation and month-end reporting inside QuickBooks Online.

Estimated time: 5 weeks · 3–5 hrs/week

Track 3

Payroll & Tax Essentials

Gross-to-net pay, withholding, employer tax deposits and the filing calendar small businesses live by.

Estimated time: 6 weeks · 4 hrs/week

Track 4

Advanced Financial Reporting

Income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and the ratios that owners and lenders actually read.

Estimated time: 8 weeks · 4–6 hrs/week
